North Review

Today's senior bowl had its intriguing moments some unknown players made their presence felt and some highly touted players did not live up to the billing.

The North Report:

(QB) Taj Boyd-Clemson; Did not look comfortable throughout the game, threw one interception, there still seems to be questions if he can play under center did not look comfortable, accuracy was off. Did show that is mobile and has a Strong Arm.

(QB) Stephen Morris- Miami Hurricanes; was up and down throughout the game threw two interceptions, did show a strong arm able to make all the throws on the field  and showed escapability with good mobility.

(QB) Logan Thomas- Virginia Tech; Has the physical tools 6'5 250 lbs runs very well for a big man, but had a poor showing did not look good and was consistently inaccurate.

(RB) James White-Wisconsin; Ran the ball hard had a decent game showed he knows how to be patient and set up his blocks.

(FB/TE) Ryan Hewitt- Stanford; dependable blocker especially in the run game, good hands and is viable option out of the backfield for short to intermediate passes. Has some experience playing Tightend can almost be viewed as a charles clay type of the miami dolphins.

(OT) Zac Martin- Notre Dame; Has very good all round game has the talent to be a 1st rounder if not a lock for the 2nd round. Had a very solid showing at the senior bowl played both left and right tackle positions.

(DT) Aaron Donald- Pittsburgh Panthers; Did not have a problem showing scouts what he is made of as a football player. Stopped the run, applied pressure on the quarterback, moved very well in the trenches. Solid showing all around did not hurt his stock one bit.

(CB) Stanley Jean-Baptiste- Nebraska; great size for a cornerback 6'2 215 lbs had a pass breakup, had a few tackles, showed he can play against good competition. One of the knocks on him needs to get a little more physical and his footwork.

(MLB) Chris Borland- Wisconsin; Did nothing to hurt his stock as usual he was making tackles and all over the field. Chris Borland brings tackling and tenaciousness to the position for his height & weight 5'11 & 245 lbs he sure reminds me alot like Zach Thomas where he stood @ 5'11 242 lbs and was also tencious and a tremendous tackler.
